So this week makes One Year on the mission! That is a bit weird to think about. And all I can think of right now are the amazing people who the Lord has placed into my life since being on the mission to help me be this person. I am so grateful for each one of them. Some of them I won't get to see for quite a few months but I love them so much! Its interesting because I love and miss them now like I missed family and friends at the beginning of my mission.
The Lord has played a significant role in my life the past 5 weeks since I have been in the Rincon Zone. I just can't imagine not understanding and accepting Him like I did before. Life feels new again. Missions are hard. Training is an adventure in fully relying on this being the work of the Lord. Much harder than I ever anticipated. But they are the sweetest things at the same time.
I read a talk called The Atonement and the Journey of Mortality by Elder Bednar and it really changed my heart and perspective on the atonement. I haven't realized until recently how absolutely everything we do in this gospel has to do with Jesus Christ. Everything relates to Him. Teaches of Him. Testifies of His power and ability and desires to heal, succor and extend Himself to us.
The work here really is good right now. We have seen so many miracles and John is just one of them. He is living evidence of the atonement. He and his wife just amaze me every time we meet with them.
I love you all! Will have pictures next week. :)
