Happy Thanksgiving Week everyone! By this time next week it will be December 1st. What? How has that time flown by so stinking fast?! :)
So this week brought about the testimony of persevering and seeing blessings. For all of you returned missionary friends who may be reading this, Tuesday was a bit slow...every appointment cancelled. :) But we kept going and trying people and made it through. And there were bright moments and miracles and the rest of the week had blessings too. Because when we are obedient (and diligent), there are blessings!
By Sunday we had invited and were expecting 6 investigators and 2 returning to activity families. 5 of our investigators came :) I didn't know that your heart could feel so much joy and gratitude for the agency of others. And then while we were sitting in sacrament the doors open and a returning family came in. Not one we were expecting and they were one we had not see in a few weeks! To see them there brought such overwhelming love because they got up and decided to make it to church. I felt such a gratitude to see them! Sundays may be even more my favorite day of the week!
This time, to be a small part of people's lives, is such a privilege. I've seen some amazing things this past week as I look to love those around me. I've seen a single Dad who does anything for his boys work to overcome a lot to learn more about the church. I've seen another single Dad take a step of faith to move towards Christ and help those around him. I've seen a lot and am grateful to be able to witness the reality of Christ in people's lives.
I hope as you all head into this week that you will not only focus on gratitude but seek to study and grow your testimony of our Savior. Take the copy of The Living Christ off your wall and read it. :) Come to know Him who is our Savior and is the Gift.
